Wellington Young Actors present Tartuffe and Lady Windermere's Fan at BATS
WELLINGTON YOUNG ACTORS | Theatre
Wellington Te Whanganui a tara
Overview
We've been invited to perform Oscar Wilde's 'Lady Windermere's Fan' and Moliere's 'Tartuffe' at BATS Theatre 17-20 October!
We have two of the most famous plays of all time and 25 young actors ready to take the stage.
We have almost met our fundraising goal but have a little bit more to go.
Some of our key costs include:
- Extra rehearsal space at $25per hour- we have had a significant amount of illness over the winter and some recasting so we need to meet to rehearse a little bit more than we were expecting before the show.
- Costume hire $950.00 - we have 33 costumes to hire/borrow/beg. We have been lucky to have the support of a local theatre company who is lending us some tailcoats which has brought the cost down quite a lot.
- Props $100 for a victorian-esque tea set from an op shop and some fans and bits and pieces.
- Set $100.00 - we have secured sponsorship of most of our set for the season but just need a couple of things that they could not provide.
- Tartuffe license $286.44 - this is licence fee to pay to the playwright who translated the script from French.
- Transportation costs $160.00 - we need to cover the cost of moving our sponsored set from Petone to BATS Theatre and back.
- Posters: $285 - we've designed some cool posters ourselves now we just need to have them around town.
We have already raised $1150 so now we've just got the final push!
