Overview
Upper Hutt, 1984. Bust out your shoulder pads and join Cecily as she discovers her true self, through the wonderful world of Colour Me Beautiful. Cecily has escaped to the Antipodes following her divorce. She finds herself befriending an eccentric group of women, intent on living life to the fullest, and finding fulfilment in ways she never expected. Cecily's journey takes some hilarious twists and turns, as she navigates her way through the minefield that was 1980s, Upper Hutt.
We premiered the play at BATS last April, and took it to Sydney Fringe last September. We are delighted to bring this work to Hutt audiences.
The previous two seasons were completely self funded. As we move forward with this project we need to raise $2000 to cover the cost of lighting hire, venue hire, printing costs, graphic design and Facebook ads. We have already managed to raise $800 through private sponsorship, which is great! We are looking to raise the balance to get us across the finish line!
The BATS season sold out, and got excellent reviews. We would love some support to make our next season happen.
