Thank you for checking out our Boosted page.
HERE'S WHAT'S GOING ON:
We have a second album ready to be recorded and we're calling it 'Boofhead'!
Developed over the last year and a half, these 8 bluesy punk-rock tracks are a raw exploration of a young woman's struggle to make ends meet in a city (Wellington) she can't afford to live in. The songs stretch from the personal to the political, taking a frank look at issues of shame, trauma, male privilege and the housing crisis.
WHY THIS ALBUM?
Honestly, we're angry. We're angry because no matter how hard we see our friends working, they will never be able to afford a house in the city they live in. We're furious that a human right has been turned into an unregulated capitalist commodity. We're on edge because our landlord could kick us out at any moment. We're frustrated that we were sold the university dream, only to wake up with a 30k student loan and no sign of a job available that we studied for. We're ashamed of some of the things we have to do to make ends meet. We're angry that this means not enough has changed and that we can't afford to live in the city we were born in. This album portrays our frustration and tells the story of a stuck generation.
YOUR SUPPORT WILL GET US THERE!
We're pouring all our band money into this project - approximately $2,500 - but need more to cover the costs of renting The Surgery studio in Wellington and paying Toby Lloyd (Tiny Triumph Recordings) to produce the album.
Your money will go directly towards:
- studio hire
- recording
- producing
- mixing
- mastering
You will be contributing to creating a world-class quality album of kiwi music and helping our awesome local music industry stay afloat during these hard times.
