Overview
The NIU Choir from Bishop Viard College is on a mission to represent our community, our culture, and New Zealand at the 2026 Australian International Music Festival in Sydney. From 5 July to 12 July, 31 of our talented young Pasifika creatives (aged 12–18) will take the stage at the iconic Sydney Opera House and Verbrugghen Hall, participating in adjudicated performances and professional workshops alongside some of the best youth ensembles in the world.
This tour is the culmination of a high-stakes pathway for excellence grounded in our BVC MPPA (Music, Performing Arts, Pasifika) Vision. It is more than just a performance; it is about providing our rangatahi with a global stage to showcase their artistry while being nurtured through our unique Whānau Lead model, which ensures cultural and spiritual safety throughout the journey.

Project Updates
WE DID IT! Target reached! 🎉😭
At 10:20pm last night, we officially hit our fundraising target! We were watching the screen in absolute awe.
To every single person who donated, shared our link, or cheered us on—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We could not have done this without our amazing community rallying behind these students. Because Boosted is all-or-nothing, your support quite literally made this trip possible.
Next stop... departure day! ✈️
The timing couldn't be more perfect. We leave next Sunday, 5 July, which means the countdown is well and truly on.
The choir students are absolutely ecstatic today. Knowing that so many people believe in them and backed their journey has given them a huge boost. This final week is going to be a whirlwind of rehearsals, packing, and a whole lot of excited nerves.
We will do our best to keep you updated on our journey, but for now, please know how grateful we are. You’ve given these kids an experience they will never forget.
