Claudia Jardine
Hello! My name is Claudia and I'm from Ōtautahi.
I am an artist, and I work as an administrator & communications advisor for festivals and NFPs as my day job. I wrote a bestselling book of poems called BITER (2023) and a chapbook called 'The Temple of Your Girl' (AUP New Poets 7, 2020). My debut pop folk EP North was released independently in 2019. I also have a Master of Arts in Classics with distinction from Victoria University of Wellington, where I won the 2020 Alex Scobie Research Prize and a Marsden Grant for Masters scholarship.
My ancestors are from the British Isles and the Maltese Archipelago, and my research interests in the Classics were originally inspired by my attempt to connect with and learn about my whakapapa. My first book BITER features many of my translations of Greek poems from the Palatine Anthology. I won't spoil the book for you - if you like short, sexy, funny poetry, you should read it!
