Wellington Mic Drop - Season 2

Wellington Mic Drop is a web series made by local comedians Ben Powdrell and Brad Zimmerman, and is aimed at showcasing the best comedians in the capital.

The Wellington comedy scene is bursting with talented, hard-working men and women who deserve to be broadcast to a wider audience. Mic Drop allows them a chance to do just that.

We filmed season one of the series in November 2016, with the help of generous Boosted donors like you, and the final product is incredible!

The comedians who featured in season one (James Nokise, Patch Lambert, Li'i Alaimoana, Molly Sokhom, Jerome Chandrahasen, Nik Bruce-Smith, Lucy Roche, Jonny Potts, Adam Wright, and Rob Harris) have all been able to use their Mic Drop episodes to build their audience, and book more gigs with promoters and producers.

Right now we're looking forward to filming season 2, and we need your help to make it as good as we possibly can!

We've already got some top-shelf comedians onboard for season 2, including Cohen Holloway (What We Do In The Shadows, Boy, Hunt for the Wilderpeople), Benjamin Crellin (Pulp Comedy, TV Comedy Gala), Neil Thornton (TV3's After Hours), and A LOT more.

Wellington Mic Drop came about because of our passion for incredible local talent. We are not profiting from the series financially, but the potential benefits for the comedy scene are enormous.
