Step into the courtroom where the souls of gothic legends—Dr. Frankenstein, Count Dracula, and Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde—face their final judgement. 

Verdict sees the souls of the dead put on trial for the sins of their life. The audience as the jury has the task of sending them to one of two places, the Above, a sanitised afterlife for those who have atoned for their sins, or the Below, a hellish place for those who are yet to seek redemption. Will these lost souls find redemption, or be doomed to eternal damnation? The decision is in your hands, jury…

Tēnā koutou!

We are Requiem Productions, formed under Te Herenga Waka’s Master of Fine Arts (Creative Practice) programme by Pan Clark, Alanah Munn, and Sophie Helm. Inspired by a love for the macabre, with a talented and diverse cast and crew, our debut original production Verdict promises to be a spine-chilling experience for lovers of gothic literature, horror, and fantasy worlds.

The idea for Verdict was born from Alanah and Pan’s shared passion for horror theatre and their interest in audience participation and engagement. As they explored these themes through their MFA research, they were inspired to develop an original horror production that blends immersive theatre elements with haunted attraction scare action. 

The money raised from this Boosted campaign will go towards a koha for our awesome cast & crew, to thank them for all their hard mahi! We have a terrifying group of emerging practitioners (including current students and alumni of Te Herenga Waka, Toi Whakaari, NZ School of Dance & Massey University) working on this production who deserve to be paid for their craft.
