Overview

We are kicking off the New Year in a creative way:

In the first month of 2017, our small crew are dedicated to making a short film about big matters.

We want it to be 25 minutes long and we are filming in two locations in Auckland for one week.

We need your help to make it.

The budget will go towards hard costs such as locations, camera rental gear, lighting, crew food, and festival distribution.

FILM SYNOPSIS:

Margot escapes from rehab after being arrested for drink driving and asks her step-sister Carol to give her shelter.

Carol is in a sinking relationship with her high-school sweetheart Chad and she struggles with her career.

Margot grew up partying in Europe and came to New Zealand a few years ago for a change of scene.

The two sisters never were very connected, but as it is Margot's last chance before being kicked out of the country, Carol gives her a chance.

Their relationships will shift to a new level of maturity as their questions about adulthood seem and become similar.

Chad, on his side, realizes that their relationship is more of a habit than a love story and starts the slippery slope into depression.

As every good situation needs to have an end, the three protagonists will start afresh, but not before going through a slice of hell that includes drugs, adultery and suicide.

The story takes place today in a fast growing Auckland.

The story depicts a generation struggling with unstable careers, unaffordable house prices and the shame of expressing feelings, in a new society of superficial success and false happiness.
