Thomus
Arlo Gibson | Theatre
Overview
Thomus is a new work entirely in iambic pentameter by first-time writer, Ash Jones. Factory farmed youth ends with the infusion of buying power. The citizen unit goes from child, to adult. He gets responsibility. But Thomus' family seems to be on the brink. How do we fix things in place? How do we keep things ok? Do we act? Or do we let the market run its course? Inspired by David Lynch films and youthful angst, Thomus will be one quick, impactful, psycho-thriller.
Ash and Arlo have spent the better part of the year preparing this script for its premiere at The Basement in September. Because of its quality an amazing group of artists have gathered around Thomus, rehersals have now begun and we think that at the end of it all the cast and crew deserve to be paid. We know we have aimed for the stars (with a cast of seven) but it's only because we want to make the best fucking theatre show we can. We can 100% promise you that you haven't seen modern verse delivered like this before and that when you see it, it will rocketh your sockeths.
We need fundz in order for the creative team to realise their individual visions for the design, lights and sound We also want to make sure that our actors walk away from this project with more money than they went in with
Thomus features Milo Cawthorne (Deathgasm, Power Rangers), Amelia Reynolds (Tiny Deaths, Stomach), Arlo Gibson (Shortland Street, Step Dave), Bruce Hopkins (Lord of the Rings), Mark Clare (Shortland Street, Hercules), Michelle Leuthart (Social Climbers, The Almighty Johnsons) and Oliver Cox (Ollie is a Martian).
