Overview

The idea for Theatre Live Online was born in lockdown. Live events simply ceased and these incredibly talented Artists could not do what they do best. We had to adapt, we had to survive. We had to show that we are still relevant and resilient. This is our way of responding. We've started something new.

We need your support for these Theatre Artists. In return they will entertain, move you and make you think in that magical way that only Theatre can.

When you donate, you contribute to the Playwrights, Directors, Actors, Technicians and Theatres. You will be keeping Theatre Artists engaged, working, challenged and relevant.

We would be enormously grateful for your support no matter how grand or humble.

This how it works:

3 THEATRE COMPANIES are challenged to make a 'new work' for both live and online performance.

3 PLAYWRIGHTS commissioned to write the new Plays in two weeks.

3 THEATRES host the live Performances.

  • Little Andromeda
  • Bats
  • The Herald Theatre

3 DIRECTORS, each with 3 ACTORS rehearse and mount the new work in two weeks.

BOOSTED LIVE will stream the live performance as it happens.

NO CUTS, NO POST, NO HIDING

In front of live audience in the Theatre and streamed live to Audiences Online.

YOU will be able to participate live in a Theatre or live-Online as they are streamed.

The challenge is to make these new works truly ‘theatrical’ and speak to ‘live’ performance yet be totally engaging to watch Online.

The provocation we gave the Playwrights was simple. 'What really matters?'

Central to our 'Kaupapa' is the aim of keeping Theatre Artists engaged and working. We wish to celebrate the unique qualities of live Theatre and must adapt, in a COVID -19 world. Theatre Live Online represents an exciting collision between the physical performance space and online space.

Help us provide this opportunity for Theatre Makers Nationwide to promote innovation in our artform.

Please support these brave and creative Theatre Artists in responding to a changing world with creativity, risk and imagination. I cannot wait to see what they come up with. Paolo Rotondo, Producer.
