The Tempestuous Kiwis
Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand | Theatre
Overview
Kiwis performing to dolphins?!?Let your imaginary forces work...a theatre hewn in the cliffs above the sea in Cornwall, the Minack, with three members of Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand's 2013 Young Shakespeare Company raising up a storm with a shortened version ofThe Tempest.
Chosen out of 5500 in SGCNZ's 2012 Festivals, Tyra Wilson from Auckland, Lydia Peckham from Nelson and Imogen Finlayson from Wellington will participate in SGCNZ's inaugural Cornwall Extension Tempest Project.
Director from Cornwall, Sarah Lincoln, has been working with the students by Skype, and now leading NZ Director Stuart Devenie, will be holding rehearsals in Wellington to prepare them for the performances and workshops they will present in the UK. A public showing will be held in Wellington on Monday 3 June.
Funds are required the bring Stuart, Tyra, Lydia and Imogen together for the rehearsals and to present the local performance, including for props and costumes.
We are hoping you will be able to help with a donation however big or small to make this exciting enterprise a reality!
