The Project

We are everything and nothing.

Plagued by Lynx-Africa.

Tap dancing. Plastic. Lana Del Rey. And how to cook the perfect roast.

Death is inevitable.

The Jellyfish is Immortal.

Coriander tatstes like soap.

When everything matters and nothing matters, who chooses what is moral?

Who gets to decide our fate?

And why is no one talking about the fish that can live forever?

They say to be a woman is to perform, so let me put a show on for you.

The Immortal Jellyfish, written and performed by Margot Coleman, is the debut show for emerging theatre company, Lupin de Krank Productions.
Margot is a Pōneke based, multi-disciplinary creative who is entering her final year of acting at Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School.

This show aims to bring together emerging creatives and give them the opportunity to collaborate and develop their artistic voice.
Any donation is greatly appreciated and will go toward production costs and paying our cast and crew fairly!

The Details

The Immortal Jellyfish was first created as a 15 minute solo at the end of Margot’s first year at drama school in 2024. In March 2026, it is set to return as a full length development season.

The Immortal Jellyfish follows the inner monologue of an existentialist housewife, existing in an uncanny hyper-patriarchal society. It explores socio-political themes such as the over-sexualisation of women and feminine liberation; all through an absurdist, camp, comedic lens.

The show is a smorgasbord of experimentation and collaboration. It speaks to our experiences as female creatives, pulling from our individual skill sets to create a piece of theatre that we are proud to call ours. The opportunity to perform in the NZ Fringe Festival will allow us to further establish ourselves as creatives in this vibrant industry.

Lupin de Krank hopes with our debut show, we can continue to create opportunities for young, emerging artists in Aotearoa and beyond!

The Impact

A successful Boosted campaign will have an immense impact, enabling us to put on our show, pay production costs and fairly compensate our cast and crew!

We hope that through the use of our socio-political themes of hyper-patriarchal systems and ideals, over-sexualisation of women and feminine liberation; we can use art, creative collaboration and our unique voices to challenge the audience to reflect on how they view women within our current societal structures.
