Stop Kiss

Overview
Stop Kiss: A love story that will kick you in the guts...and when you’re down, the back and the head until you’re in a coma.
As Callie and Sara navigate their feelings for one another, they find themselves walking together through the city.
They share their first kiss.
It’s new.
It’s exciting.
The moment is shattered as they unknowingly provoke a violent queerphobic attack, altering their lives forever.
“…irresistibly exciting…a sweet, sad, and enchantingly sincere play.” —NY Times
Embers Collective are thrilled to be bringing Stop Kiss to the stage on September 1st - 4th at Pitt St Theatre. 10% of our profits will be donated to Rainbow YOUTH.
Originally set in New York, we have been given special permission by the playwright, Diana Son to relocate the story to Auckland. We are incredibly honored to have her support. By setting the play in NZ, we want to highlight the prevalence of hate crimes towards our own rainbow community.
Everyone deserves to feel safe, seen and heard. We hope we can make a difference in our own small way.
But first, we need you!
As much as we love this play, buying the rights can be costly! Your donation will go towards paying for the play rights, music license, and our venue technician. We cannot put on a show without these three things.
We appreciate all and any support you can give!
