We can diagnose your ethnicity by the following questions:
1. Do you believe in monogamy?
2. When was the last time you cried?
3. Do you pee in the shower?
4. Would you wear shoes inside?
5. Have you used tinder?
6. Do you suffer from sweat stains?
7. Where are you really, "really" from?
8. Have you got sticky fingers?
Your results will be available at the show. You may bring a support person. Prescriptions can be collected at the bar.
"Sticky Fingers" is an experimental, physical theatre piece that aims to delve and examine the unseen and unheard struggles of minority groups living in Aotearoa, especially in our capital city.
Eunji Park, the Head Director of Palette, is a student studying Theatre and Asian Studies at Victoria University. She has always wished to share often untold or ignored stories of minority groups. She has seen that the mainstream, European culture is seen as true New Zealand identity.
She brings with her multicultural and underrepresented cacophony of cultures; Korean, Philippines-New Zealand, Australian Aboriginal, and M?ori, to name a few. This new company challenges conventional theatrical performance with a variety of unique skills and hilarious experiences.
WHAT YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS WILL MEAN:
'Sticky Fingers' is the flagship show presented by Palette Theatre, and as our first show, we're trying to do as much as we can with as little as possible.
We were blessed to receive support from Kakano, but to help realise the true power and vision behind 'Sticky Fingers', having a little more money behind us will help cover contigency costs, our publicity campaign, our props expenditure, and reimburse the cost of venue and rehearsal space hireage, all of which are important for getting our vision to the stage.
Any contributions made will help embolden 'Sticky Fingers' and help us make it the best show we possibly can.
We will keep everyone updated on our progress as we continue to move through our rehearsal process. Expect snapshots of us in action, interviews with the cast and crew, and a flurry of other media and stories!
