Scruff
Ed Lust | Film
Overview
Produced by Porter Pictures
Written/directed by Ed Lust.
Featuring performances by Matty Visser & Andrew Fidow.
The majority of Scruff was filmed on-location around Christchurch in February 2014, with Sabin Holloway as cinematographer. The footage gained from this initial shoot was extremely successful in capturing post-earthquake Christchurch through the eyes of a precocious teenage boy, Amon.
After being sent home from high-school, Amon embarks on a day-long (or rather overnight...) journey of self-discovery, with the help of a little naivet and a mobile-phone dating App.
Scruff has received a Fresh Shorts grant in 2013 from The New Zealand Film Commission, and with the money raised from this Boosted campaign we will be able to film the final scenes on the 1st and 2nd of August this year.
The $3000 in pledges we hope to secure from Boosted will go toward the cost of camera equipment and lens hire, as well as paying the two lead actors. To date, most members of the cast and crew have participated in this project without reimbursement.
Scruff features an original soundtrack by local musician, Misfit Mod and boasts a cast & crew of talented Christchurch locals.
