Overview

PROJECT INFO

School Night is a New Zealand Film Commission funded short film directed by Prisca Bouchet and Nick Mayow and starring Ariaana Osborne.

THE FILM

Ellen and her older boyfriend Sam meet in a park after school to make out. Out to impress, Ellen takes things to the next level, but just as they finish she sees another schoolgirl filming them, before disappearing. Terrified, Ellen embarks on a frantic journey to find the girl, and as her night unfolds discovers how far she'll go to protect herself and stop the footage going online.

THE TARGET

With weather disrupting our initial shoot - we’re asking for help to fund a final shoot day, and to help with post-production.

We’re aiming to raise $8,000 - this will be used to fund final shooting, colour grade and sound design.

The 2003 Elam Fine Arts graduate co-directed documentary Minginui (2004) with Summer Agnew, a portrait of small town decay. Luxton has also worked on many projects with Jeremy Dumble — including 2012 feature drama We Feel Fine, their ‘irreverent view’ of Auckland. Luxton rejoined Agnew for experimental doco On an Unknown Beach. All three films premiered at the NZ International Film Festival. Luxton's work as a cinematographer includes comedy This Town, horror Reunion and music videos for Lawrence Arabia and Die! Die! Die!
