Physica Theatre Company Presents: PAPER PLANES
'A girl, a bedroom and a dog. Oh and puppets, there's puppets too.
It's 11:38 and Fran can't sleep. Maybe it has something to do with her dog who can't decide whether it wants in or out, or the moon looking for a party, or her rude Belarussian landlady.
Or maybe it's the nagging feeling that something's very wrong.'
One of the cornerstone's of Physica Theatre Company's ethos is to provide a platform for young artists to grow their abilities as artists and create work in a rigorous and professional environment. 'Paper Planes' will see eight young creatives involved in staging the work.
The script itself is the first full length work from Aaron Richardson, and our actors will be delving into an area of theatre seldom seen in New Zealand: Puppetry.
Our Thursday performance of this work will see $10 from each ticket sale donated straight to Wh?riki Hauora, an organisation which provides koha counselling and support to people working in the creative industry.
We will also be working with Taurima Vibes as part of their Atawahi Festival, which presents a series of works across Auckland that are aiming to open up dialogue around mental health and begin remove the stigmas often attached to mental health issues.
