OUTSIDE THE FRIDGE

Overview
Outside the Fridge is a narrative short film about a family falling apart after inheriting their deceased patriarch’s home. The son, neglected by callous parents, hides away inside their new fridge, only to find out that it is possessed by his grandpa. This sinister presence twists the boy’s mind, revealing his parent’s treacherous secrets which threaten to leave their family in ruin.
“When you’re older…”
As a child, our parents shield us from family struggles happening outside of our purview. They are not, however, always successful. Our desire to become an ‘adult’ and to solve problems in the family is often accompanied by pain and a loss of innocence. Outside the Fridge manifests this through the metaphor of a possessed refrigerator. It shows the young boy how someone behaves when they think nobody is looking and what evil is wrought trying to “save the family”.
