Night Waves - Post Production

Night Waves is a drama short film which was successfully crowdfunded on Boosted. Now we need to raise a little bit more for post-production.

So far we've spent roughly $11,000 bringing this film to reality, and much of that money was provided by our generous Boosted donors. Now we want to do the project justice with a professional post-production process.

This entails not only the editing of the footage. This covers sound design - the complex task of mastering the audio levels of the environment, dialogue and music so that they all meld together into something which sounds crafted and beautiful. And colour grading, a huge part of giving your film that cinematic look. These three things will need an experienced hand, so we need a little bit more to get this film over the line.

For those who are new to the project, Night Waves is a noir/drama short film about a radio host working the graveyard shift who, deep into the night, receives a call from a haunted sounding listener.

The man's name is Nero and he's played by longtime kiwi actor Scott Wills, who delivered a stunning, ferocious performance which I felt privileged to behold first hand. The radio host's name is Regina and she is played by Ruby Pledge, a highly talented young Toi Whakaari graduate who likewise gave everything she had to the role.
