My Bonie Bell
Arno Loeffler | Music
Overview
"My Bonie Bell" will be the second compilation LP of songs by the Scottish bard Robbie Burns (1759-1796) on Zelle Records (the first one being "Ae Fond Kiss", 2015). My wee one-man vinyl-only label is based in Vienna, Austria, and specialises in alternative rock and pop music from Dunedin, a city whose Scottish heritage is an essential element of its identity.
The idea for my Robbie Burns LP's was inspired by Toit? Otago Settlers Museum's annual "Robbie Rocks" talent contest. "My Bonie Bell" brings together Dunedin artists of different generations, well-known local heroes and aspiring young talent, local residents and expats. As suits the Scottish themed nature of the project, there is even one musician from Edinburgh, Scotland, among the contributors.
There will be 14 very diverse songs on the album recorded 2015-2016, by 14 very different acts, ranging stylistically from Folk to Rock'n'Roll to Indie to Punk.
- The Sharma Brothers:Her Daddie Forbade 5.52

The record will be made available New Zealandly and New Zealandly, not only as a commodity but first and foremost as a promotional tool for the artists - and as a collectible item for music fans.
The music is in, and the artwork is nearly in, and you may be wondering what remains to be done. It's simple really: become part of this wonderful project by helping me reach my campaign goal - or go even beyond that. I would very much appreciate your kind gesture - and so would the artists.
