Miniature Comedy Festival

Mouthful is bringing Miniature Comedy Festival back to the streets of Tāmaki Makaurau this summer.

After an initial sold-out run on Karangahape Road in 2021, we need your help to make this dynamic festival accessible to a broader audience.

WHAT IS MOUTHFUL?

Mouthful produces vibrant pop-up comedy shows in Tāmaki Makaurau. We aim to expose diverse audiences to the quality and variety of comedy in Aotearoa.

Mouthful is the pseudonym of producer Conor Dunbar, who is passionate about supporting artists’ development and connecting them with the right audience. He also loves admin.

WHAT IS MINIATURE COMEDY FESTIVAL?

Miniature Comedy Festival is a fast-paced, action-packed comedy festival taking place over just a few days.

It began in 2021 to showcase our city's active and ever-changing comedy community. Based in a pop-up venue on Karangahape Road, Mouthful packed six sold-out shows into just three days.

With the help of this crowdfunding campaign, we can establish a pop-up space outside Auckland Central that's more accessible to a broader audience.

We are looking for a space where we can program concurrent shows, creating more paid opportunities for performers to present their work.

We're committed to making Miniature Comedy Festival a diverse and inclusive event where audiences can experience fresh New Zealand comedy.

WHY DO YOU NEED FUNDING?

Mouthful is determined to deliver a festival that celebrates and reflects the fast-growing and ever-hilarious comedy community in Tāmaki Makaurau. With the help of your donations, Mouthful can:

• Keep ticket prices low. We believe price should not be a barrier to experiencing high-quality local art. With your help, we can keep all tickets under $20.
• Pay performers their worth. Artists deserve fair pay for their mahi. Your donations help us pay performers at or above industry standards.
• Pay crew a living wage. A show of this scale wouldn't be possible without an outstanding crew. With your funding, Mouthful can continue to pay a living wage.

It’ll cost us roughly $15,000 to put on this festival, and we want to raise $4000 with the help of our fantastic audience.
