Overview

WHO AM I?

Hi, I'm Chloe Miller, I'm 17 and in my last year of school.

I have lived and breathed drama for the past four years, performing in up to 12 pieces in one year at school, competing at the Otago University Sheillah Winn Shakespeare nationals for two years (our piece won three major awards in 2023), achieving distinction in the Trinity of London Drama exams, and being awarded Scholarship Drama in 2023.

This is an incredible opportunity, something I could have only dreamed of!

I can hardly believe it but I've been accepted to the prestigious Juilliard School of Performing Arts Summer Programme, in Florida this July.

I auditioned two months ago, believing that you should always push yourself and try new opportunities, 'swing the bat' as my parents say - AND I WAS ACCEPTED!

I'm one of only a few students ever accepted from NZ - but now we have to find the funding.

WHAT IS IT?

This is a summer residential programme, where I get to study in small group settings with the Juilliard world class tutors. We'll develop our drama skills and explore our creative talents through unique programmes specifically designed for young artists. This is a two week intensive experience, with private lessons, artistic collaboration, masterclasses, seminars and performances. I'll get to spend a fortnight developing my technical skills and artistic capabilities in a uniquely supporting and highly engaging environment.

I'm hoping that the experience will not only enable me to grow and develop my talent, but help with my applications for Universities at the end of the year. I want to study a Bachelor of Arts in Performance and Arts Management.

WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING?

The residential/boarding programme cost is USD$6500 (that's approx $10,800 NZD), plus approx NZD$5000 for flights. Thats over $15,000 NZD.

Unfortunately the cost is just not achievable for me and my parents to fund. We're hoping to raise funds here, and I'm going to be working during the holidays. But we have a very short time to do this, or I lose my place!

We’re hoping we can raise $10,000 to cover the course fee. We’ve listed a smaller $2k goal as Boosted is an ‘all or nothing’ platform, and our Stretch Goal (what we’re really wanting to raise) won’t show until we reach the first smaller target.

So I'm hoping our amazing community can help make this happen.

WHY SHOULD YOU SUPPORT?

Boosted is an all or nothing platform, so please, anything helps. We have to reach the first total to get the funds, then we can aim for our "stretch goal".

I'm so INCREDIBLY grateful for any support.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

WOW! Thanks to you, we're so close!!

I'm overwhelmed by everyones incredible generosity.

THANK YOU so much for your incredible support. This means so much to me and my parents. I just finished the busiest term of my life - rehearsing then performing as Roxie in Chicago for 4 nights, then the very next day competing in our Regional Shakespeare competition and winning Best Five Minute Scene to qualify for National Finals in Wellington (the Sheilah Winn Festival). I directed and performed in the piece, and have been working on it since September.

THIS IS WHAT I LOVE. And you're helping me to go and learn from some of the best in the world. I'm so grateful, and excited.

Please, share my page if you can, and hopefully we can get really close to our actual $15,000 cost. Chloe x
