Overview
When Theo, a New Zealand-born Samoan teen, makes an unwelcome life decision, it quickly sparks a clash of differing views within his family. As three generations confront the meaning of identity, legacy and expectations, the family must navigate their differences and rediscover the meaning of unconditional love.
Our team is passionate about telling Pasifika and Māori stories, giving them the platform they deserve. We have lived experience with this subject matter, hailing from Pasifika and Māori whakapapa. Our goal is create a story that celebrates polynesian culture, while containing themes that are relatable to all.
We plan to use our funding to cover equipment and transport costs, kai for our cast and crew and eventually festival entry fees. We would also like to provide a koha to our cast who have very kindly given up their time and to the whanau who is generously letting us shoot in their home.
