Hula Journey to Kamehameha

Aloha, we are Hula Halau O MoanaNuiAKiwa - a hula group under the direction of Kumu Hula Auli'i Mitchell. We are based in Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) in Aotearoa, New Zealand. We are preparing to compete at the Kamehameha Hula Competition in Honolulu, Hawai'i in June 2016.

As far as we know, we are the first group from Aotearoa to compete at this New Zealand hula competition.

Mahalo friends and whanau who have already supported us but we still need to pay for and make our hand-made hula costumes as well as accommodation and transportation while we are IN Hawai'i.

We are passionate about hula and can't wait to represent our hula teacher, our families, our homelands, our cultures and our ancestors. This is a dream come true and an amazing opportunity to bring the spirit of AROHA to the land of ALOHA.
