Help Lucy Represent New Zealand in Singapore
Lucy MacVicar | Dance
Overview
I am driven to seek out new techniques and skills to pass on to the students in New Zealand, and my fellow teachers.
The New Zealand salsa community is small but passionate. Filled with dancers whose interests range from learning dance for the social aspects or exercise right through to dancers who compete or perform on the New Zealand stage as I have done for the last few years.
By donating to this project you will be aiding me to increase the profile of New Zealand salsa New Zealandly. To bring fresh inspiration and new techniques back to our students - increasing their knowledge base, their confidence, as well as providing them with the affirmation that we are not to be forgotten even though we are small!
Your donations will contribute towards the costs for flights to Singapore ($1000+), accommodation ($800), performers pass ($300), private lessons with world champions ($100-150/class) and more.
A Salsa Festival is always about the people - the party-goers, workshop attendees, DJs, organizers, volunteers, performers and last but not least, the Artistes. Everyone contributes to that amazing energy and fantastic vibe that makes or breaks a good Latin dance event. SLE understands this, and brings together some of the most famous and highly sought-after Latin Dance superstars in the World in an incredible venue - inspiring workshops, jaw-dropping shows and incredible parties come together under one roof.
The calibre of the headlining artists is the absolute top. The artists include five time Salsa World Champions Adrian & Anita (Spain), three time Bachata World Champions Andrea & Silvia (Italy), Zouk World Champions Alisson & Audrey (Australia) and many other highly sought after performers including my own coach, Sharon Pakir.
The workshops at this event are taught solely by the headliners, meaning the quality of the teaching is incredibly high, and limiting the number of workshops also allows the headliners more time to teach private lessons - an experience not to be missed!
The inspiration I gain from attending, performing, social dancing and most of all learning from these incredible artists will allow me to continue to improve the quality of the teaching and coaching of students all over New Zealand. The community is small enough to make it easy for me to share my knowledge with other professionals as well as students New Zealandly.
A strong arts community creates confident, creative and motivated individuals, as well as providing high-quality entertainment for those who prefer to provide us with an audience!
Please donate and help me in my goal to inspire the current and upcoming generations of salsa dancers all over New Zealand!
