Overview

A collaborative exhibition created by Te Moana nui a Kiwa (Māori and Pasifika) artists.

Using the mediums of dance and photography to share and honour our pūrākau, stories, and experiences of grief that are often not brought to light.

The Movers and Models of Grieving Godess:

Dana Suamili (she/her) who is a proud Niuean and Cook Island descendant channel's her passion and creative pursuits as a dancer, motivated by the rich cultural tapestry of her roots. 

Rewa Fowles (she/they) is a queer Māori and Pākehā multidisplinary artist striving to create impactful work that uplifts and that ignites difficult conversations

Caitlyn Dulcie (she/her) A passionate visionary devoted to all creative arts hailing from multiple Oceanian bloodlines from Tonga; Niuafo’ou, Niuatoputapu. Māori, Ngāti Kahungunu iwi (Mataira clan) and Moriori, Rēkohu Chatham Islands imi (tribe) with Kiwi-European; Welsh, Irish and English ancestry. 

We share our personal journeys navigating grief and all the emotions and changes that come with it. Photographer extraordinaire Lilehi Lavasii (he/him) takes snap shots of our inner grieving goddess ready to be seen.

This exhibition will be held at Theend Gallery for the whole month of March.
