Godzonia (Postponed Season)

What is Godzonia?

A universal story told by local storytellers, and proudly female-led, this play offers vignettes of humanity amidst apocalyptic chaos. Showcasing the power of kindness in a world starved of connection, it unravels through laughter, love, heartbreak and hope, to ask the question:

'What is community in the face of isolation?'

Written by Georgie Oulton, directed by Anna Ledwich and with original composition by Simon Allen, this creative team features international theatre-makers who were locked down in Aotearoa last March, and made the choice to stay during these uncertain times. Godzonia is fully realised through collaboration with local creatives and is presented as a part of the Auckland Fringe Festival.

Why do we need your support?

Three days before Godzonia was due to open, Auckland was moved into a Level 3 Lockdown, in response to Covid-19 cases in the community. We have jumped at the opportunity to postpone our season to April 2021, in the hope that we can present the best version of this play possible, when it is safe to do so. Your generous donations will go towards further technical support for our sound and lighting design, costuming, extra marketing, feeding our cast and crew, and most cruicially extra rehearsal space hire.

When is Godzonia?

Godzonia has been postponed to play at Q Theatre Loft from Wednesday 14th - Saturday 17th April (Covid-19 response pending, fingers crossed! )
