The Project
Fallen Through the Cracks is a character-driven short film about responsibility, empathy, and the quiet courage it takes to act when others look away.
THE FILM
When an elderly man living with dementia forms an unexpected bond with a young boy, he embarks on a desperate mission to help him before his memory fades away. With support from Dementia Canterbury, we share this story to encourage empathy, understanding, and conversation around memory loss
Set against an ordinary everyday world, the film explores themes of isolation, human connection, and the people society often overlooks. At its core, Fallen Through the Cracks is about choosing kindness and standing up for someone vulnerable, even when doing so feels impossible.

The Funding
We are currently raising funding to help bring Fallen Through the Cracks to life at the standard the story deserves. The funding will go toward key production costs, including equipment, locations, cast and crew support, production design, catering, transport, and post-production such as editing, sound design, colour grading, music score and festival submissions.
As an independent film, community support plays an important role in helping us tell meaningful stories that might otherwise go unheard. Our goal is to create a high-quality film that can connect with audiences locally and internationally while shining a light on important social issues.
The Impact
With Fallen Through the Cracks, we want to start conversations around child neglect, loneliness, and the people in our communities who are often overlooked. The film aims to encourage empathy and remind audiences that small acts of kindness and speaking up can make a real difference in someone’s life.
At its heart, the film is about human connection and responsibility. We hope audiences leave the film feeling emotional, reflective, and more aware of the quiet struggles happening around them every day.
