Deep and Meaningful - Sydney Season
Alayne Dick | Theatre
Overview
Alayne here! In 2020, we made a poetry show "Deep and Meaningful", which won the SYNZ Tour Ready Award at the NZ Fringe Festival.
This year, we are finally (fingers crossed) going to Sydney! But touring is expensive. Even with the award funds, it's pretty difficult, as is marketing a show in a city we've never performed in before.
You're invited to our fundraising gig. It's happening BATS Theatre on July 14th from 8PM.
However, a collection of lovely friends have asked if there was a way to donate online! So, if you prefer a cashless option, or can't make the gig, please consider supporting us on here! We'd appreciate anything you can offer on our quest to get to Sydney.
Thank you so much for your support.

OMG THANK YOUUUUU and some Stretch Goal Realness
Hello friends!
Thank you so much for your lovely support, we are so blown away by your generosity! I had a little cry over how quickly you all helped me out.
With our $500 target met, in combination with our touring award and support from Sydney Fringe, we have almost covered the costs of our flights + travel insurance + accommodation.
We are so grateful and excited to meet our target this early on in the campaign. However, we still have a way to go to get closer to our tour #breakingevenbaby. That’s why we’re aiming for a stretch goal!
If we reach our stretch goal of $1500, we would be able to:
- Fully cover the travel insurance costs.
- Pay for a rehearsal space
- Run a modest online campaign of $50 to get some butts on seats, which can be very tricky when you have never performed in the city you are going to!
- Confirm $200 to my muso Aaron, director Jen and tech-op Courtney so that their payment is not solely reliant on ticket sales (very important to me as we might have to do our season under reduced capacity for COVID reasons) OR it will be put towards emergency accommodation costs if there is a government mandated lockdown during our tour (no travel insurance covers lockdowns unfortunately).
So if you don't mind helping us get a bit further, please consider sharing our Boosted around!
Love you all,
Alayne
