Death & Honey
Salty Lizard Productions | Multi Discipline
Overview
NEWS JUST IN:
Starving (not really) young creatives (students) band together under an emerging Pōneke based theatre company, Salty Lizard Productions. The purpose? To forge a 40 minute duet of theatre, dance, and spoken word. Relating the tale of a young girl’s acquaintance with ‘that who reminds us of our fragile mortality,’ this is; Death & Honey.
Who are these mysterious four?
Salty Lizard Productions introduces … Raya Hotter! 18 years old and fizzing with ideas, she is the Marketing and Social Media Manager - not to mention Photographer and Visual Design Artist for Death & Honey.
Next up is Hayden Pringle! A 19 year old self described nerd and tech extraordinaire, he is the brains behind the fabulous light designs and sound score brought to the show.
Third is, Piripi Amohau! Creative Collaborator throughout the process and starring as Death in this production, Piripi brings buckets of laughter, knowledge and energy (even if he doesn’t believe he has any left) to the space.
Finally, founder of Salty Lizard Productions and Creative Lead (so basically everything else a production needs) of the show, Aroha Morrison! 18 years old and armed with the mottos, “I don’t know what I’m doing! AHH!” followed by, “Aw, she’ll be ‘right,” Aroha is also excited to star alongside Piripi as Honey, bringing this incredible story to life.
The team under Salty Lizard Productions are carrying out this project for the love of art, to expand their own skill sets and experiences, and create a space for conversation around the often-hard-to-talk-about topic: death. One may ask, what does it take for an extraordinary tale such as this to be born? Sufficient to say, three factors must boil away under the same pot: 1 nanna-nap; 1 mild terror of death; 1 love of movement.
These young creatives hope to raise $3,603! In donating either your money or time (feel free to spread the news), you would be enabling the next generation of Artists to be paid for their hard mahi in an industry which often doesn’t have much money to go around.
Due to the nature of the narrative, these young people believe it will be a reflective process for everyone involved. They aim to provide an open safe space for reflection and conversation, bringing communities together with vulnerability - connecting hearts and minds.

Fundraising goal clarification
Kia ora Koutou,
We have just noticed our goal in the previous description doesn't match along the progress bar. For clarification, we are currently fundraising for $5,000 to pay a fair wage to the team for their creative mahi.
We would also like to note, every donation thus far is greatly appreciated. It is humbling to see so many people support us.
Ngā Mihi to you all!
