Create a Circus Hub Oasis

The Circus Hub is a charitable trust in Wellington, NZ, that offers recreational circus classes to all ages and abilities, as well as training/creation space for rising and current circus arts professionals. We also host several social circus classes and workshops (predominately grant funded) for students with different physical and mental health backgrounds. We are one of the few circus schools in NZ and the only one in Wellington.

In the original set up of the space, the student waiting area has been upstairs near our office. We've found that this does not serve our students that have mobility restrictions and so we've flipped some things around and opened up a space on our main level that has easy access to the exits, toilets, and circus floor!

Currently this space is just an empty concrete room (see photo), but we see it's potential to be a student oasis. We are hoping for funding to purchase paint, painting supplies, a rug for the floor, seating, a community board, and a few plants to bring new life to the space! We are hoping to bring this all together before our next workshop with Aranui Vocational later this Winter.
