Stretch Goal Message
Thank you to everyone who's donated so far! These extra funds will help us cater better kai for our lovely cast and crew on the day and allow us to access better gear for our camera and lighting team!
Overview
ĀTAAHUA is a 12-minute psychological horror about loneliness, identity, and the power of connection.
Inside a quiet local art gallery, a young man begins to lose his grip on reality, haunted by nightmares that blur the line between dream and waking life.
A semi-autobiographical story examining takatāpui and mental health, ĀTAAHUA pushes the boundaries of traditional filmmaking, celebrating community and showing the importance of whanaungatanga in an ever hectic world.

Project Updates
Introducing 'Woman on Wainuiomata', the Star of the Show!
'Woman on Wainuiomata' by Mary Livingston is the central painting of Ātaahua and is the emotional centre.
Captured on Wainuiomata beach, the stark landscape is only inhabited by a draped woman and deadwood, the orange and reds scorching the piece.

Mary has spent her life as a landscape photographer after studying ecology at University. After seeing the biological wonders of our moana, she chose to photograph these worlds to bring to life the same beauty she sees.
This painting will be given to the highest donor and when the painting appears in the film, the name of the highest bidder (or a pseudonym of their choosing) will appear on the plaque. Donations close in two days!
