And No More Shall We Part NZ Premiere
Dean&Ella Productions | Theatre
Overview
The Project:
The newly-formed Dean&Ella Productions is proud to present a NZ premiere as their first show! Alan Palmer and Julie Edwards were moved and inspired by this play, and needed to share it with New Zealand audiences.
However, this production has so far been self-funded, and needs you help! Please support us to cover our production costs, so that we may have a successful initial season in Dunedin, at the Fortune Theatre. We hope that this will lead to opportunities to tour nationally next year, so that everyone may have the chance to experience a particularly beautiful piece of theatre. And of course, if you are in Dunedin, please also book and see the show!
The Play:
Don and Pam have lived a long and successful marriage together and they are still very much in love. The kids have grown up and moved on, but now, suddenly, rather than suffer a prolonged death, she wants to leave him - or that's how it seems to him, at least. Pam is ill and makes a heartbreaking decision.
And No More Shall We Part looks at what happens to a relationship when end-of-life choice comes into the room. It is told with the sophisticated rhythm and often awkward and humorous genuine banter that is the hallmark of a long-married couple.
Winner of the 'Victorian Premier's Literary Awards Louis Esson Prize for Drama' and the 2010 AWGIE for Best Stage Play.
Australian playwright Tom Holloway's plays have been performed internationally since 2001. And No More Shall We Part recently enjoyed a successful season at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Massachusetts, and has also featured at Edinburgh Festival 2012.
