Wellington Te Whanganui a tara
Overview
After five years of offering free access to an inner city space for art, film, performance and community events, 17 Tory St Wellington has been asked to move on by the landlord.
The good news is that there is a space on the first floor of the same building. We have a team of old hands and new members keen to try to make sure the space continues. The new space has a kitchen, office space and toilets which will be an amazing addition to what we've been doing. We're looking to move up there and be ready to roll again by some time in July.
In the last five years we've hosted four hundred different events proposed from the community, existing only on donations and support from a few regular space users. We'd love to be able to keep a similar kaupapa of accesibility in the new space.
The move has also meant we've lost a couple of our key funders. So we're trying to raise $3300 to take us through to the end of the year. Those funds would pay for the basics of the space - base rent, electricity, rubbish bags and other amenities.
We've already sourced $3300 from our existing supporters, but want to reach out to our community to match that.
Thanks for your help!
