Together with Creative New Zealand, Boosted launched the Boosted X Moana campaign on Thursday 8 October 2020. For a month, Pasifika arts projects became the focus of Boosted, with fifteen creative projects receiving a meaalofa match fund to kickstart their crowdfunding endeavour.

A campaign video is key to connecting with your crowd. People want to join you on your journey. The reason that people donate is that they want to engage with you and what you are doing. It really helps, when they can see the real people behind the scenes.

Events can raise awareness of your campaign, raise money, reward your core crowd and create opportunities for media coverage.But they can be time-consuming to organise, so if you can piggyback on existing events where you can make an ask, or have a supporter ask for you, even better.

Tali Enjalas Jenkinson makes music under the name Vallé. The rapper spent the first few months of his life in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea and moved to Aoteoaroa New Zealand with his father for life-saving medical treatment when he was just eight months old. Vallé is now based in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
