Jessie & Tara
Dreams are apt to be confused with reality. They give height to behaviour in the waking state.
Kia Ora everyone, my partner and I are in the final year of our Screen Production degree at AUT. This is our last project and we're super keen to make this one memorable. The goal is to acquire industry-like skills and share meaningful content with our communities. We have written a seven-minute short psychothriller that we intend to add to our portfolios and use to enter into a bunch of film festivals around Aotearoa.
This is where you'd come in. We all know making a film requires money. We're hoping to raise fifteen hundred dollars to fund this production. This money will go towards our set design, props, costume, our cast, and of course, we want to spoil our amazing crew with yummy treats and an alarming amount of coffee. If you're willing to hop on board and bring this one to life, it would mean a lot to us. Big or small, anything helps. We'd be delighted to have you on this journey.
SYNOPSIS
The Sin follows 16-year-old, Frankie, who comes face to face with a past horror, leaving her with a guilty conscience and questions about her faith and morals.
THEMES
This film explores themes of guilt, anxiety, and religion, and follows the process of accepting our past actions. We want to touch on the connection between dreams and spirituality, and how dreams can sometimes be a means of communicating with the dead.

Pitching to media
Remember, not everyone you ask to give will give, so even a modest crowdfunding campaign aiming to raise a few thousand dollars requires getting in front of thousands of people.Unless you’re famous in your own right or have strong social influence, it’s unlikely you’ve got immediate access to a network of this size. Here’s where PR comes to the party.31 Aug 2024 -

Planning your content
A crowdfunding campaign needs a ton of content. For the 30 or so days of funding, you’ll be coaxing, cajoling and flirting with your crowd, asking for money, and you’ve got to come up with a fresh way to ask every day. You’ve got to keep it interesting, enticing and exciting.31 Aug 2024
