Jasmine Day
Our intentions are to provide space, awhi and opportunities for oceanic creatives in our street art community, building confidence in artists again off the back of a worldwide pandemic. We want to make sure that every creative kid in South Auckland is supported in the growth and development of their talents, regardless of socioeconomic status. An ode to the community that continues to inspire us in our craft.
The South Siders Collective is Tangata Whenua lead. Still newly established; a diverse group of creatives who all grew up here in South Auckland decided they wanted to use their skills to serve a bigger purpose. Each of them bring different experiences and knowledge to the fore, allowing them to learn valuable things from each other. These qualities, paired with undeniably raw talent, prevalent in the works of many artists who come out of South Auckland, are qualities of a group of game-changers, ready to reshape the narrative of their community.
The collective is made up of these beautiful humans:
Jasmine Day (Founder/Producer)
Cassidy Makiha-King (Creative Director)
Te One Matthews (Event Co-Ordinator)
Akayla Bramley (Community Manager)
Tommy Tran (Lead Videographer/Photographer)
Markayla Whaikawa-Ford (Assistant Videographer/Photographer)
Mani Tuaga (Talent)
Faith Schuster (Talent)
Andre Busby (Talent)
"Built on generations of story-tellers, kaitiaki that fought before us, woven simultaneously in segregation and community; we are often misconstrued before having a chance to prove our worthiness. Hyper-extending our energy through coping mechanisms and an innate need for instant gratification; we find a gateway of healing through the arts."

Boosted How To Guides
Asking through email
Social media is a handy marketing tool, but you don’t own your social media community. The visibility of your posts is at the mercy of social media algorithms. In other words, just because you publish a status update, doesn’t mean people see it. Furthermore, if the gods of digital decide to fold a platform, that’s your hard-earned followers gone in a blink.29 Aug 2024 -
