Kimberley Annan
I am an artist with a film-making background who has shown and worked in New Zealand, Africa, Europe and America. My passion lies in arts that transcend disciplines. I am a member of the Band Practice art collective, connecting artists from across the globe and developing objectives that encourage critical thinking. The projects I work on and the stories I tell through the camera drives both the conceptual and aesthetic elements of my practice. Through my solo projects and collaborations, I establish a visual language between creative communities.
Up until 2020, I had the rewarding role as a Moving Image technician at the University of Auckland, Elam School of Fine Arts. This position gave me a platform to engage with young and emerging artists, teaching them production skills as well as hosting film nights and supporting exhibitions of new works that extended students exposure beyond a formal arts education. Alongside this role I have been involved in multiple creative outputs as an artist, cinematographer, director and project manager. Currently I am self-employed and focusing on my creative practice.
