I am a handweaver who works with wool. . I love wool because to me it says New Zealand. Wool is a natural fibre with such great qualities – warm, breathable, suppresses odour and is biodegradable creating no rubbish at the end of its life. It can be woven chunky or elastic or fine depending on the project and sometimes it’s neat to create something that should be fine out of chunky or vice versa. Rules can be broken. I have 3 looms that I use to create interesting natural wool fabrics. My work is what you call slow fashion.
