What We Leave Behind

'What We Leave Behind' gives us young filmmakers of Christchurch, New Zealand an exciting challenge of creating and capturing the essence of a more grounded post-apocalyptic short film that focuses on sentimental human characteristics to the situation and environment of the film's extreme setting. The thought of an individual change to become someone unrecognizable is the situation this story explores alongside its characters.

The film is written by Hadi Bahrami and Izac De Castro and it will be in the same world but not directly connected to their previous award winning short film 'What’s Ahead of Us' which was made as part of Yoobee Colleges Film and Content Creation Course in 2021 - which allocated the "Highly Commended for Cinematography in International Category" at Fresh International Film Festival in Ireland in early 2022.

The production crew consists but not limited to the diverse filmmakers who volunteer their time to the production for free. We aim to source other filmmakers in the future to be in this journey together as we aim to reach our target of delivering for the New Zealand people and in the hopes of representing New Zealand in various film festivals globally. The audition and casting phase will start in a few weeks time and updates to the whole production will be given

By donating any amount, you'll help fund for the actors, renting equipment, catering for the whole team, location, art department and practical effects to capture the true feel of the vision, entries to film festivals globally and if our stretch goal is reached, we may hold a cinema screening in Christchurch. By donating $30 or over, you will be offered a credit as a key supporters credit in the film's end credits.
