FUNDRAISER SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT
Hello world, more exciting news! We will be performing TO BE FRANK for a one-off fundraising event at Basement Theatre on the 5th of September at 8pm. And it’s Choose What You Pay!
All proceeds from this event goes straight into our campaign to help us get to Melbourne Fringe in October. For those who missed us earlier this year this will be the last chance to see Frank strut his stuff before we head overseas. We are thrilled to share this work again with the city where we created this silly spooky show! Come support!
And here is where you can buy tickets! basementtheatre.co.nz/whats-on/to-be-frank-1
FRANKLY, WE DID IT!
Wow. We've made it. Omgomgomg. I never could have anticipated the amount of support and love you have shared with TO BE FRANK over the last month. I am gobsmacked, amazed and humbled. Thank you so much to each and every person who donated or shared or attended our fundraising show or even gave an encouraging word to keep our moral up throughout this campaign. It means so much. Your support means that we can now focus on making this tour to Melbourne the best it can possibly be, doing what we're best at as artists, without struggling to make ends meet and that makes all the difference. Thank you for valuing us as artists and valuing TBF as a piece of work worth supporting! We are so grateful. Get ready Melbourne, Frank is coming to town!
If you are feeling extra generous our campaign will still be open until 9pm and all extra proceeds will go towards investing in a more robust marketing campaign to get bums on seats and artist fees to more appropriately pay the artists for their hours dedicated to the show.
I thought this would be a great time to unveil the wonderful new poster, generously created by Area Design. Thanks to you, it'll be plastered all around the streets of Melbourne! More updates to come.
Update on our Frank's tour
Kia ora Boosted donors, I thought it would be a great time to update the supporters of Frank on how our Melbourne Fringe season went. It was a success! We had a fantastic time during our tour and found Melbourne was a great home for Frank. We performed in the historic Victorian Trades hall which was always a hub of Fringe activity. Our audiences began small and intimate but with the help of a great word-of-mouth and a roaming Frank handing out flyers our audiences grew and grew until our closing night where we sold out! We packed 70 audience members into our 55 capacity space and had an incredible final show. TO BE FRANK was reviewed as “one of the most commendable, committed and enjoyable performances witnessed at the Melbourne Fringe Festival this year” by My Melbourne Arts. Our creative team worked hard to put together the best TO BE FRANK shows yet and we’re incredibly proud of the theatre we were able to share with the audiences of Melbourne. And a reminder, that none of this would have been possible without your support, so thank you again. This tour has been such a wonderful experience for us all and provided us with a great milestone in our artistic careers. Keep connected on our socials for more Frank updates! With love from Michael, Stenn and Logan.
