The Project
"The Starlight Symphony: The Kindling" is now set to release in paperback and epub formats by the end of this month, and author Daniel Cromar is hoping to celebrate its release with a book launch event at Dunedin's own University Bookshop!
Previous backers may remember Daniel's campaign to help cover the publishing and printing costs of the novel last year, and thanks to the help of everyone who contributed, the book is now a reality to be released in two seperate volumes!
To all who wish to help donate, you may soon have a copy of your own, and even attend the event too!
The Team
Like the last campaign, I am working this project solo to help release my debut novel and kickstart my professional career as a fantasy author. Much of my work has not only gone into my own writing, both professional and for the love of it, but also in managing the business of self-publishing to make this two-volume novel a reality.
The Funding
The funding will go towards:
- The costs for the University Bookshop's evening event package.
- 30+ physical paperback author copies to be sold locally to nearby, old and new potential readers.
The Details
"The Starlight Symphony: The Kindling" is a coming-of-age, epic fantasy novel in two volumes, chronicalling the genesis of an aspiring sorcerer along with his sister and a criminal fugitive on the run. Their destinies are intertwined along with many others as they race to save their home from destruction.
This project will put together the first book release event for this book anywhere!
The Impact
The release of this book would be of great impact to the community of not only Kiwi authors, but also those in the fantasy genre as I believe that pantheon should be encouraged and highlighted more. As a University student of English/Writing and of the Performing Arts, a student-written book would bring wonderful attention and appeal to not only the University and the English departments etc. but also be great for the student scene and the Dunedin art scene as a whole.
