Our community really needs more opportunities like this — opportunities where people like the late Damien, and those they cared about, are truly seen and supported.
This scholarship isn’t just about helping one student; it’s about creating a space that celebrates difference, embraces inclusion, and encourages young people to follow their creative dreams without fear.
By supporting this project, you’re investing in real people and their potential — people who might otherwise be missed or unheard. Together, we can make a lasting difference for many students to come.
The Team
HI, I’m Amy Ang, founder of The Narwhal Trust.
You can contact me on thenarwhaltrust@outlook.com if you would like to find out more about our vision for this project.
The Funding
We want to be open about where your generous donations will go. Every dollar will help us get this scholarship off the ground and keep it running each year. Here’s the breakdown:
- $5,000 – Annual scholarship amount for a first-year student at Victoria University
- $500 – Administration to Boosted 10% margin
- $500 - other set-up cost
Total initial goal: $12,000 (2-year initial scholarship)
Raising this amount now will help secure the scholarship’s future.
The Details
We are launching a scholarship in memory of the late Damien Hollins — a vibrant, creative soul who had a deep love for design, architecture, and community
- The scholarship will support first-year students at Victoria University studying media design or architecture
- Priority will be given to LGBTQ+ students or those actively involved in inclusion and community work
- Funds raised will go directly toward annual scholarship support for students in need
The Impact
With your support, we’re starting our first project — a special scholarship in memory of Damien Hollins, to support students studying media design and architecture.
The scholarship would be open nationwide to any Year 13 school leavers who are part of the rainbow community, intending to study in the Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation.
This is our way of helping young people follow their passions in art and design. Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference.
