The Project

The Creative Exchange is a video podcast series launching in 2026 that celebrates Aotearoa’s creative community and its global connections. Each episode features in‑depth interviews with artists, makers, and innovators, exploring their journeys, creative processes, and the impact of their work on the creative landscape.

In addition to the interviews, we are introducing a live studio segment, with each performance presented as its own dedicated episode. This provides artists with the opportunity to showcase their work in a studio environment, delivering energy, emotion, and artistry directly to audiences as our podcast grows.

We are seeking funding to deliver the best possible visual production for the live performance episodes. Support will be invested in additional cameras, lighting, stands, diffusers, media storage, and editing equipment, building on the strong audio and production foundations we have already established.

We aim to make this platform a celebration of creativity in all its forms. With your support, we can highlight our creative community and produce every episode entirely in-house, presenting the artists’ work at its very best.

The Team

The Funding

Accessibility is at the heart of The Creative Exchange. We believe every artist should have the opportunity to share their work without barriers or costs. This funding will directly support that mission, enabling artists to focus on their performance while we ensure the highest-quality production.

To ensure The Creative Exchange delivers the best visual production for our live performance segment; which demands greater visual investment than the interview segment of our podcast. This funding will be used to invest in additional cameras, lighting, stands, diffusers, media storage, and editing equipment, building on the audio and production investments we have already made for this series. This support will allow us to deliver exceptional visuals alongside every live performance episode when we launch next year.

Your support will ensure that every session in 2026 not only sounds incredible but also looks its best and captures every performance detail.

The Details

The Creative Exchange is a video podcast series that celebrates the richness of Aotearoa’s creative community and its global connections. Each episode features in-depth conversations with artists, makers, and innovators from across the country, exploring their journeys, creative processes, and the impact of their work in today’s world.

Alongside these conversations, a live music segment will capture studio performances with broadcast quality audio and video, creating a vibrant platform to showcase Aotearoa’s musical talent and artistry.

Over the past year, we have been recording and trialling the video components of the series, hiring and borrowing equipment to bring our vision to life. Through this process, we have learned what works best both visually and technically, and now have a clear understanding of what is needed to produce the podcast to a consistently high standard. With your donations and support, we will be able to invest in additional cameras, lighting, stands, diffusers, media storage, and editing equipment, building on the audio and production foundations we have already established.

With the right support, this project can be fully realised, giving us the opportunity to have everything in-house and produce The Creative Exchange to the highest possible standard.

At its heart, our podcast is about shining a light on the breadth and diversity of creative careers and practices that shape our cultural landscape. From established voices to emerging talent, we aim to highlight the many pathways that creativity can take, helping audiences appreciate the wide range of opportunities within the industry.

In an increasingly globalised world, it is more important than ever for creatives to have platforms where their work and stories can be shared. The Creative Exchange seeks to be one of those platforms, a space where authentic conversations and performances can inspire connection, understanding, and a deeper celebration of the creativity that defines Aotearoa.

The Impact

Our mission is to highlight the wide range of careers in the arts, helping audiences appreciate the breadth of creative opportunities within our community.

In today’s global landscape, it is vital for creatives to have platforms that showcase their talent and tell their stories locally. Our podcast will provide exactly that. By supporting this project, you help amplify the voices of Aotearoa’s creative community, sharing their work with audiences both here at home and abroad as the podcast grows.

For us, The Creative Exchange is more than a podcast, it is a celebration of creativity. With your support, we can continue to shine a light on the innovative voices of Aotearoa and beyond, ensuring that our live music segment in particular captures and showcases the talent, stories, and artistry of every performer.
