The Project
Foundation Gallery & Arts Hub in association with the Barefoot Artists of Leigh are going to re paint our Leigh Central water tank.
The kids who attended back in the beginning (2020) helped design and paint the old terrible eyesore which formed a great blank canvas for us to decorate for greater community enrichment.
It has become a local land mark and visitors and wedding parties are often seen taking snaps with it as a backdrop to their memory of visiting our village.
The Team
The Barefoot artists and their families, local artists, local mechanics, electricians and tradespeople, the Leigh Primary School and preschool, members of the community, and community groups. It’s a leigh village interest.
The Funding
Funding is required to clean and prepare the tank, hire scaffolding, purchase paints and finishing products, buy materials for the children’s art installation and assist the many project costs.
The Details
Painting the Leigh Central water tank to brighten up our village and combine this with a gallery installation of the kids term 2 and 3 designs and marine inspired creations and use this as an opportunity to invite the village along to celebrate community and art being a driving force toward building a happy and joyful place for children to grow up in.
The Impact
The impact of these activities is always a positive one where art forms the fabric of social good in an inclusive way for everyone to enjoy including the visitors to our region. The tank has become a local landmark and visitors for weddings and other celebrations can often be seen taking photographs with the Tankfulleigh as a joyful local expression and reflects the genuine interest in beautifying our area by the children for the children and greater community while serving art as part of what makes a village great!.
