Soliloquy in Sweat on Tour

The Project
Soliloquy in Sweat has been invited to Contact Dance Festival Singapore in June 2022! This work was first presented at Experimental Dance Week 2020 and is the winner of the Best in NZ Fringe 2021 award.
After 3 years without tours or international travel, I am so excited to be able to share this award-winning work abroad! I will share my movement practice (in a workshop) and award-winning show at Contact Dance Festival in June 2022.
About Soliloquy in Sweat
Soliloquy in Sweat celebrates the resilience of dancers around the world! In the face of a global pandemic and repeated cancellations, financial insecurity, and the loss of work, we remained resilient. We are still here, dancing! Soliloquy in Sweat is a moment where we pay tribute to dancers, their grit, and their power! It is for this reason that I am asking for your help to bring this work on tour and share it with dancers and audiences abroad. I want to start more conversations about the exploitative labor practices dancers work under in the name of 'art' and to trigger conversations and reflections on how we value dancers and art and future possibilities towards greater equity and care.
Your support will go towards paying for visas, and travel.
Katrina is an endurance-based dance artist based between Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa, and Berlin, DE. Their choreography values the body as a vehicle for authentic expression. She seamlessly navigates between improvisation and set choreographic material which emphasizes the ‘body under pressure’ as resilient and a source of ultimate knowing.
Thank you for your support.
