SHEEPSKIN

The Project
We are a dedicated group of film students creating a compelling 10-minute short film for our 3rd-year Major Projects.
This film is deeply personal, exploring the harsh realities of service industry workers and the complexities of classism—issues we’ve all faced. After months of drafting scripts, securing the stunning Wharekauhau Lodge as our location, and pouring our hearts into this project, we received the Greenlight from our lecturers. We're thrilled to bring this vision to life but need funds to ensure it reaches its full potential. Your support will help us produce a high-quality film that moves and entertains.
In "Sheepskin," Casey works at an isolated country club near Wellington, hiding his deep trauma behind a friendly demeanour and finding comfort in a sheepskin pocket square. His routine life is disrupted when Hunter, an abrasive guest, arrives, triggering Casey's buried inner turmoil. During a masquerade event, Hunter's relentless taunts push Casey to his breaking point. The tension culminates in a violent confrontation, where Casey attacks Hunter, and reveals their shared past and the depth of Casey's torment. As the dust settles, Casey dons Hunter’s wolf mask, staring at the club. The silence now filled with a sense of foreboding and uncertainty.
