Wow! Thank you! 76% and 100 Donors

Mark, Rina and I are so grateful to all the support we've received from each and every one of our donors. It means so much that we're that little bit closer to reaching our target.

Because of the generosity of our donors, we've been able to get the ball rolling on some of the post-production work so that as soon as it's finished we can submit to festivals.

Last week Edwin Wright, who plays Colin, and I, were in the ADR booth at Envy Studios, cleaning up some our lines for the sound mix, and bringing out the comedy in a few other moments.

Mark and I also got to chat to our musician, Karl Steven, who is one of Aotearoa's best screen composers and has created wonderful original scores for feature films Come To Daddy, Uproar, Bellbird and The Justice of Bunny King. We've wanted to work with him for so long, and luckily the dates aligned. He totally gets the heartfelt, quirky tone too.

We have just 6 days left of the campaign to raise the last 24% ($2,390), and are fairly sure we can make it. However, if we don't reach the target, we don't get to keep the donations and they all go back to our 100 donors.

If you're able to share our campaign with anyone who may be interested in supporting us, and supporting the other creatives who helped shoot the film, that would be a big help.

Thanks again to you all. Here is a pic of Mark and me at Envy Studios, getting into some post-production action. You made this possible.

Thanks to YOU we can finish our film!!

I know we've been saying a lot of thank yous, but there is always more capacity for more gratitude in this world. So, THANK YOU, from Mark, Rina, and me, as well as the whole cast and crew behind PleasureDora.

We'll now be able to complete the post-production we've started and get going with Festival Formula on our festival submission strategy. We're so excited and so grateful for all the support people have put into helping with the campaign. We can't wait to show everyone the finished film.

While we've reached our goal, and get to keep all the donated funds, this will just cover finishing the film, starting on the strategy, and paying Boosted their commission.

Our campaign is still open until Sunday, and we have a stretch goal of $12,000. This will mean any extra donations that come in, go straight into festival submissions. Which can rack up fast.

So, if you would like to share our link and info about our campaign, it will mean that each new donation is a chance for our big-little film to get in front of a new audience.

Thank you once again

Film Festival Announcements for PleasureDora!

Kia ora koutou supporters of PleasureDora,

It's been quite a while since you heard from us. Thanks to your generous support earlier this year Mark, Rina and I are really excited to share with you that PleasureDora has been selected for four festivals occurring over the next two months in Indonesia, US, Italy and Show Me Shorts here in NZ!

PleasurDora will be having its world premiere this week in Bali at Minikino Film Week. Hot on the heels of its world premiere, PleasureDora will next screen in USA at the 2024 Vortex Film Festival! This is the genre sidebar of the Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival. Then in October she heads to Italy to screen in Sognielettrici / Electric Dreams International Film Festival. We wish we could be there in person.

We are thrilled that the NZ premiere will be as part of Show Me Shorts' Auckland Opening Night at The Hollywood in Avondale on Thursday October 10th. There are a lot of great films from Aotearoa on that night, so tickets will fly out the door fast.

Hopefully, you can join us and see everyone's phenomenal mahi up on the big screen. We're stoked with how it turned out and can't wait to watch it with an audience. Keep an eye out on socials for more details about other screenings. PleasureDora is in the Dystopian Dreams session of the Show Me Shorts programme.

PleasureDora is also screening at Wellington Opening Night the following week at The Embassy.

Thanks again for all your help and support with finishing PleasureDora. It means so much to us to have this beautiful project complete and about to enter the world.

Marion, Mark & Rina
