IN THE SHALLOWS | WINTER TOUR 2025

In The Shallows’ Winter Tour 2025 will bring their lush, harmony-rich sound to intimate venues from the coastal charm of Paekākāriki to vibrant stages across Aotearoa. This tour is both a celebration of our evolution and a strategic showcase for key industry eyes & ears. With special guests on harp, cello, and violin joining select shows, each performance will be a deeply immersive, emotionally resonant experience. Audiences will also get a first listen to songs from their upcoming album, ahead of its release later this year, a glimpse into the next era of the band’s sound and spirit.

At the heart of ‘In The Shallows’ is Welsh singer-songwriter Danni Davis, whose etherial voice carries the emotional depth and clarity that defines the band’s sound.

Danni Davis is joined by long time live bassist Shane Hamill, newcomers Ben Brunskill (guitar/vocals), Arna Wnek (keys, vocals), and Sam Holdom (drums) and special guests Michelle Velvin (harp), Janet and Shona Holborow (violin/cello) joining select shows in Wellington and Auckland.

This last 12 months we have been working alongside Mood, the new music company founded by industry legend Grant Hislop who is a very generous mentor and CEO of a million things, including JuiceTV, NZ's & Australia’s only music television channel. Hislop also founded The Rock, co-founded Radioworks (now MediaWorks) and was previously head of labels and A&R at Warner Music, label managing Anika Moa, Fur Patrol, Shihad and Weta. He also worked with Goodshirt, Pluto, Opshop, Goldenhorse, Tadpole and Jordan Luck as manager and booking agent.

  The goal is to make a lasting impression with the new lineup, helping us reach festival bookers, open new opportunities whilst building and giving our upcoming album the momentum and justice it deserves. 

‘In The Shallows’ creates music that connects with relatable tales about life, love, loss and heartbreak. Where vulnerability is strength, and harmony, both musical and human, becomes a form of healing. Rooted in authenticity and driven by a love for live performance, the band is committed to bringing people together through meaningful storytelling, thoughtful artistry, and unforgettable live shows. Whether performing in small towns or city theatres, their purpose remains the same: to move hearts, uplift spirits, and remind us all of what unites us.

The band was grateful to receive funding from the NZ Music Commission on previous tours and support from Mood last year to shoot their hometown concert film, but has otherwise been a self funded project. Various factors including recent cuts to the arts sector have made previous avenues of support unavailable for our upcoming tour. Because we know times are tough for everyone, we've teamed up with venues to make as many of our events FREE, but If you’ve felt something through our music and you’d like to help us bring this music to more hearts by helping to keep us moving (literally), this Boosted campaign will enable us to continue on with what we had booked and planned and onwards on and upwards on our mission of making, playing and sharing our music.
