In Blind Faith the Musical

In Blind Faith is an original musical written by Cadence Chung during her last year of high school. It first premiered in August 2021 at Wellington High School, receiving national coverage and much positive reception.

About Blind Faith.

The Faustian tale follows Edward, a young man, setting out to make his fortune in the Otago goldfields. Along his way, he meets three alluring figures who try to corrupt him into various ideologies about the world. The musical now features 13 original songs, and it's a play that is both philosophical and humorous. Cadence and her fellow directors, Hazel Perigo-Blackburn and Lewis Thomson, are now hoping to recast the musical and create an even better show in August 2022.

While we have applied for CNZ funding, there is no guarantee of how much we'll get/if we will get any funding.

Overall, we need $7000 to be able to put on the show, so with your help, this campaign will cover bare essentials such as venue hire and costuming. Any amount donated on here will help us put on the show, and the more we get, the more professional it will be.

As three young and diverse creatives we feel that this show would be really important to the Wellington arts scene, as it features a revamping of New Zealand history with gay and Asian representation.
